A word from the CEO
I’m not really a writer-type person and I don’t really engage in social media, so it’s kind of hard for me as the CEO of TaskReviewer to share my thoughts, but I thought I should give it a go :).
As part of services of our parent company – Teamworksolved.com – in which we offer training and consultations on the teamwork.com product suite, advising companies on ways to improve efficiency and productivity within their organisations, we had already embraced teamwork.com as a partner and recommended it as the solution to many of our clients’ in terms of project and task management. It’s powerful range of functionality combined with its ease-of-use and dedicated team was a core factor in our partnership with them.
But there was a problem!
There was a struggle getting feedback from our clients, team members and teamwork users in terms of approving work or sign off of the design work and media assets created within tasks led to a chaotic melting pot of emails, verbal communication, instant messaging programs and more leading to confusion and frustration!
I realised there was a strong desire to have an efficient review and approval process for media assets that were attached to tasks. Many of the companies that use teamwork are involved in design process whether its marketing agencies or design agencies, The creation of media assets is a core part of the work and getting approval for those designs such as video, images or indeed documents is a key requirement.
There was a clear opportunity to create a solution that solved that need, but the problem was always with any approval solution out there was that they were driving customers to yet another separated tool, many of these actually were striving to become a project and task management solution themselves.
This created an issue because effectively what we were going to be doing is possibly driving customers away from teamwork and the advice that we offered in terms of consultations that ensure productivity improvement and centralised communications and actually introduced them to another tool (and another learning curve), creating chaos and confusion between multiple tools across multiple platforms.
There had to be a better solution.
I looked at many options out there trialled and tested them and always came back to the same problem, I worked and pretty much lived inside teamwork.com platform so why would I want to go to another tool in order just to manage something which is actually part of my workflow – it made no sense.
The clients that were working us with felt the same, they wanted something within teamwork.com and they wanted something seamless – they didn’t want to add yet another tool to their company workspace. It became clear – a simple integrated approval and review system was required – but within the teamwork platform.
The seed was planted!
We knew what was required, we wanted something integrated, we wanted something seamless, we wanted something that could allow external stakeholders access and we want to something easy to use with visual feedback.
The birth of TaskReviewer!
When we first start of the journey of building TaskReviewer the concept of what it was going to offer was very very different, only during the actual research phase and getting feedback from our team and from teamwork.com itself and the very supportive people there that we managed to actually start to finalise what TaskReviewer was going to be and how it was going to function.
A partnership was vital, it didn’t make sense to create yet another tool which effectively meant we would go into competition with our primary partner. Teamwork didn’t let us down-they introduced us to the partnership management team as well as the integration teams and the support that they gave us was 2nd to none, it gave us the confidence to progress further with the development and build of what is now TaskReviewer.
We have spent many months developing and building what we believe to be the solution for reviews and approvals within teamwork.com product suite. I personally am very proud and excited as we move now to the next stage of going live and offering to teamwork users what we believe is the solution to reviews and approvals as a seamless and integrated solution, which will take teamwork to a new level for many users, and I hope that you enjoy using it as much as we have enjoyed creating it.
That’s my ramblings over for today, and I just want to say a big thank you to teamwork as we move now to going live, and I invite you to try TaskReviewer for yourself. This product was built for you and your team, and we only want to make it better so if you have suggestions or ideas on how we can do this please don’t hesitate to contact us!
